Bridging course - another milestone

I got my student ID card this morning from Curtin University. It took me a lot of thinking whether I should pursue my accreditation here as an accountant or pursue a different field. For a time I thought of continuing early childhood education which I started back home. I was actually two months short from graduating when I left the country. But then, the children here are very much different from the children back home. Back home, the teachers are allowed to discipline them when they are being naughty. Not so here. After assisting in Sunday school for a couple of Sundays, I decided that I’d rather work with numbers than deal with children.

So there you go. Come March I will be a busy bee. Working full time and studying at night. Add to that is my driving practice. The last time I was behind the wheel was in November. It’s been a while now. I need to practice everyday when I get my car in March. I can’t practice in Bill’s car because his is manual while I am allowed to drive automatic only.

I am so excited with the things that are coming up. It’s only January but it seems like 2010 for me will be very exciting, full of activities and changes!

Milestones

After almost 12 months of doing my driving lessons, passing so many driving exams, and spending a fortune, I finally recieved my driver's license yesterday!!! Whooohoooo! I can now drive on my own. Next goal? To get my own car in March.

Two more weeks and I'll be seeing my family and friends in the Philippines again. I can't imagine that I've been away for 22 months now. How time flies.

we are going on a summer holiday...lalalala...

I think Australia (particularly Perth) is the only place in the world where December, the Christmas season, is hot, and I mean hot! The temperature ranges from 28-40. Beat that! But then again I may be wrong. Anyhow, this Christmas season is one of the best for me! From 24 December until this morning, my housemate and I were always out doing the things that we both enjoy - exploring and shopping. My only rest day was the 25th, I intentionally blocked out that date because I wanted to spend it with Someone. Just the two of us.

Below are some of the places we visited.

Mullallo Beach, 28 December

From the AQWA, we went straight to Mullallo Beach where we had barbeque - our dinner!

Poor Bill, we tasked him to bring the meat and cook it as well.

Daljeen doesn't want to face the camera with her mouth full of grapes.

I wonder what he's thinking?
A shot by Daljeen. I reckon it's a good shot.

Another shot by Daljeen.

I'm holding one of the world's biggest gold nugget ever found. Can't steal it though, got nowhere to hide it!

We went to The Cove, one of the best Indian restaurants here in Perth.

Myself, Bill, and Daljeen.

The food was yum!!!

After dinner, we proceeded to the Sheraton Hotel for the new year's countdown.
